Introducing Shy Johnson

Seven-YearsSeven Years would like to welcome a new member to our team – Ms. Shy Johnson. Shy states that she came out of the womb singing. We can believe it.  Her voice is a gift and perhaps King David might have agreed by his acknowledgement of God’s omniscience in Psalm 139:13, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” Those of us with Seven Years are pleased to see Shy using her God given gifts to spread the joy of the Gospel to all those who will hear.

She was humble enough to join us with the intention of being a back ground vocalist. However, God may have additional plans. She has already sung lead for us and is open to performing in whatever capacity needed. Seven Years is an eclectic group of singers and instrumentalists, so flexibility and openness will help shape us into the band that God can use for His purposes.

Shy Johnson of Seven Years

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Southern California has been her home for many years now. While living in Cleveland she sang in The Johnson Family Group, The Johnson Trio, and The Johnson Special. Needless to say, she comes from a long line of singers among a talented family of musicians. Shy Currently sings in the Village Church Burbank Choir. She also volunteers for and directs the Walter Hoving Home Choir in Pasadena, CA. The Walter Hoving Home is a non-profit organization serving women ages 18 and over who have been involved in drug addiction, alcoholism, prostitution and other life-controlling problems.

Shy’s voice is only matched by her heart and attitude. She brings joy into the rehearsal room every time she enters. We look forward to shaping the Seven Year’s mission with Shy on board. Please keep Shy and Seven Years in your prayers as we continue to play out the journey God has before us.
